Remnant: From the Ashes is free to claim on the Epic Games Store today

The third free game of Epic Games Store's new daily freebie schedule has landed, and replacing Neon Abyss is a copy of Remnant: From the Ashes. It has been free on the store before, so if you've been collecting freebies for some time now, don't be surprised to find the game already in your Epic library.

Described as a third-person survival shooter, the title takes inspiration from Souls-likes to offer a difficult but rewarding experience. In addition to solo play, the game also encourages cooperative action, letting you join up with up to two other players to help shoot through hordes of monsters and tough boss fights.

Here's how the store page describes the setting:

The world has been thrown into chaos by an ancient evil from another dimension. Humanity is struggling to survive, but they possess the technology to open portals to other realms and alternate realities. They must travel through these portals to uncover the mystery of where the evil came from, scavenge resources to stay alive, and fight back to carve out a foothold for mankind to rebuild...
