Current event: Albedo and Eula's re-run banners. Up next: Arataki Itto and Gorou make their debuts!
How long are Albedo and Eula's banners going to be available in Genshin Impact? Genshin Impact works on a gacha system, where players can spend various in-game and real-world currencies to Wish on a character's banner in the hopes of obtaining a playable version of them.
While many characters are permanently available as potential pulls from the gacha, others — usually 5* characters — are only available during limited periods as part of Event Wish banners. Every Event Wish banner features one 5* character and three 4* characters with a massively increased drop rate, and the 5* character is often unique to the banner and unobtainable in any other way.
On this page, we've compiled everything we know about Genshin Impact's current and upcoming banners, including release dates and times for the next banner changeover. Further down the page, we've included some information about characters who are available to purchase from the current and upcoming stock in Paimon's Bargains.
Genshin Impact: current event banner
The current event banners in Genshin Impact are Born of Ocean Swell and Secretum Secretorum, which returned on November 24th. Both of these banners are re-runs, having previously been available in May/June 2021 and last December/January, respectively.
In a departure from tradition, Genshin Impact is running two simultaneous character event banners for the three week period beginning November 24th and ending December 14th. The banners feature increased drop rates for the following characters:

As you might notice, the 4* characters with increased drop rates are the same on both banners. However, the banners are not pulling from a shared pool, so if you want both Albedo and Eula, you do need to wish on both.
Both banners will be available to wish on until December 14th at 5pm GMT / 3pm PST / 6pm EST. After that point Albedo and Eula will once again become unavailable until their next banner re-runs, so if you're eager to nab either character for your party, be sure to get wishing before then!
Genshin Impact: future event banners
The next character event banner in Genshin Impact will be Oni's Royale, expected to go live on December 14th at 5pm GMT / 6pm EST / 3pm PST.
This banner will feature two brand new characters: 5* Arataki Itto and 4* Gorou. Existing 4* characters Barbara and Xiangling will also have an increased drop rate on the banner.
Itto is a highly anticipated new addition who will only be available on the Oni's Royale banner. It has been confirmed, however, that Gorou will be added to the standard wish pool once this banner has ended.
Paimon's Bargains and the Starglitter Exchange
Wishes and banners aren't quite the only way to increase your party roster in Genshin Impact. There is another corner of the in-game store where you can potentially get your hands on some new playables. Check out Paimon's Bargains for a regularly rotated stock of common 4* characters you can purchase outright in exchange for Masterless Starglitter, a currency generated from pulling duplicate characters and high-end weapons from the gacha.
The Starglitter Exchange features two characters every calendar month, and though they're a little pricey at 34 Masterless Starglitter each, this is a guaranteed purchase rather than a gamble. For December 2021, the characters in the Starglitter Exchange are Barbara and Kaeya.
Both of these characters are also available to obtain for free and you'll get Kaeya just by completing the prologue. However, it can be time-consuming to unlock Barbara as a freebie, and she's an excellent character who's earned her place among the S Rank on our Genshin Impact character tier list. If you have some Masterless Starglitter lying around and want a strong Hydro user in your party without the wait or the grind, you could consider purchasing her from Paimon's Bargains. Just be sure to do so before the New Year rolls around and she's rotated out of the shop for another six months.
